Practise the following text for a dictation:

Mulan is working at home. She hears a noise and sees a lot of people in the street. She goes out. There is a long list of names on a tree. Her father’s name is there! The Emperor needs a man from every family to fight the enemy. Mulan’s father can’t go to war, he is old and ill. Mulan has a great plan: she is going to join the army in her father’s place.

1) In general, in the third person singular (HE-SHE-IT) we add 'S' in the ACTION.

2) For verbs that end in -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -X, or -Z we add –ES.

3) For verbs that end in a consonant + Y, we remove the Y and add -IES.

STUDY FOR A DICTATION:

MY BUSY DAY

I wake up and get up at quarter past eight. First, I get dressed and have breakfast with my family. Later, I go to school and I study Spanish. After the second break, I have lunch. In the afternoon I study English and then I go home by car. At home, I do my homework, watch TV and take a nap. In the evening, I eat dinner and have a bath. I always go to sleep at ten o’ clock, but I don’t read in bed.
